  1. 01The problemWith many indicators on one chart, it is hard to tell which rule you are following.
  2. 02Why it mattersIf you cannot read the rule, you cannot check what a backtest tested, or what it left out.
  3. 03What these two doTalon Anchor and Talon Crest 45s each draw one written rule from the first 15-minute range. You can read it and check it on your own chart.

Talon Anchor

Chart
15-minute
Trades a day
At most 1
Stop
Never moved
Feature
Measures the first 15 minutes after midnight Chicago. When a later 15-minute candle closes outside that range, it draws an entry, stop and target for its backtest.
Advantage
One written rule. At most one trade a day, and the stop is never moved.
Benefit
You can read the rule, then run its backtest on your own chart and see the losses next to the wins.

MNQ · 45-second chart

Talon Crest 45s

Chart
45-second
Trades a day
At most 2
Stop
Can trail in profit
Feature
Measures the same first 15 minutes on a 45-second chart. When a later candle closes outside the range, it draws an entry, stop and target for its backtest. The stop can trail once a trade is in profit by half the stop distance.
Advantage
A closer view of the same range. At most two trades a day, with the stop rules on the chart.
Benefit
You can see how the range formed from smaller candles, and check the rule against your own chart. Check that your TradingView plan supports 45-second charts.

Your chart, your decision

Talon Anchor and Talon Crest 45s place no orders, connect to no broker and give no trade calls.

Understand the limits

Chart marks and simulated fills can differ from a real trade. Results depend on your chart history and settings. A 45-second chart loads less history than a 15-minute chart, so check that your TradingView plan supports 45-second charts.
